Be it resolved: The South Dakota Peace Officers
Association to donate monies, support and time to the following Groups
of people and organizations:

Continue the awarding of the “Spirit of Six”
cheerleader awards in the
Boys AA, A and B, Basketball tournaments, regardless of the number
of cheerleading squads, even if there is only one cheerleading
squad. They must be sanctioned and cheered for the team all year.

Sponsor a saddle to be given to the SDHS Rodeo Queen
of each year, along with the queens traveling crown, which is handed
down from the outgoing queen. The saddle and crown is to be
presented by a member or representative of the board of directors.

To provide the sum of $500. to the Law Enforcement
Appreciation
Dinner, (Wild Game Feed) money donated to the designated charities.

To provide Twenty $500.00 scholarships to SDPOA
members if there is money available. In the event that the
scholarships are not used, they will be made available to dependents
of paid members of SDPOA.

Continue funding to the board of directors for any
legislative reasons that may arise. The amount of funding is to be
left to the board of directors.

A sum not to exceed $7,500 a year is to be made
available to help fund training for law enforcement. The request for
funding would be made available to us thorough the request of Law
Enforcement Training. It will be left to the Board of Directors, as
to who receives our financial assistance and the amount of money
awarded. The money can be used for education, including classroom
materials, books, and refreshments, but not to include room rent.

A sum of $25,000. to be donated to the Special
Olympics of South Dakota Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Support continued cooperation between law
enforcement associations in
the state; to form partnerships in seminar participation; and for
the Board of Directors to make this a priority.

That the SDPOA sponsor 10 children at a cost of
$500. per child to allow them to be able to go to the American Lung
Association summer camp.

To sponsor the SDPOA Mark Deffenbaugh Memorial to
purchase up to twelve new adult tricycles per year to be distributed
by the SDPOA to mentally challenged persons in need and be the duty
of the Past President.

To sponsor the “Outstanding 911 Telecommunicator
Award” given at each basic LET class session.

That the SDPOA Sponsor South Dakota Voices for
Children Day at the Capital in the amount of $500.

That the SDPOA donate $15,000 to Make a Wishes
“Adopt-a-Wish” Program to sponsor 3 wishes and be involved in the
presentation etc.

That the SDPOA donate $3,000 for a Sponsorship and
SDPOA banner
to be displayed at all Northern Bull Rider Events.

To sponsor the ”Coler-Williams Award” , that we have
been doing for years, along with the FBI lapel pin, given to an
officer desiring to be outstanding in their South Dakota Law
Enforcement Basic Certification Course and having high academic
achievement, leadership qualities.
